While there are training requirements for MBSR teachers, it's so much more than that, isn't it?  It doesn't happen in one moment, but is a process of becoming that continues now, and builds over weeks and years.    


"Who is with me on this path?" The connections with mentors and colleagues, and finding ways to walk together with other teachers can be a source of profound mutual learning and mutual support.  Even when it's difficult.  "How do I find companionship on this path?"  


When do you become the mentor?  "How can I share what I have learned?" 

If you are not a MBSRPNW member yet, or it's time to update your 2019 membership, 


  • Benefits at the next Gathering : your membership gives you a $50 discount to your reservation.  
  • Whether you attend the Gathering or not, you can contribute to the community. Your dues help defray the total costs, making registration fees a bit lower for everyone, and making a scholarship fund possible.  
  • Access to a members-only area of the website.  This is where you can access information sharing, articles, pictures, poems, etc.  
  • Discounts from other members for retreats and trainings.
  • Web presence on the regional MBSR teacher directory.  


  • Trained in the MBSR curriculum originated by Jon Kabat-Zinn.  Authorized to teach by MBSR teachers certified by the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School, or the Center for Mindfulness at UCSD.  
  • Taught at least one 8-week MBSR class.
  • Current on yearly membership dues.
  • If you've attended the Gathering before, you are always welcome to return.
